Prairie Rose, Rosa arkansana
$10.00
Prairie rose is an iconic, early-blooming resident of Minnesota prairies. One of three native roses in the state, it is distinguished by its shorter stature and preference for dry, open habitats. This species spreads by rhizomes to form colonies, so thoughtful site selection is important.
From its fragrant pink blossoms in early summer to its bright red hips in fall—an important food source for birds and other wildlife—prairie rose offers beauty and ecological value throughout the seasons. It’s an excellent choice for natural plantings where it has room to thrive.
Due to its unique germination needs, prairie rose availability may be sporadic and unpredictable. Be sure to sign up for notifications if it is listed as out of stock.
