Hairy Golden Aster, Chrysopsis villosa

A short statured prolific bloomer, hairy golden aster is a great pollen source throughout much of the summer. It favors dry sandy soils and is often found growing amongst silky and heath aster. When lacking competition, it can sometimes grow into something resembling a small bush. In the fall its blooms become fluffy golden orbs, attractive in their own right!
